TECHNICAL QUESTIONS
- I want to have my own site, but I don’t know how to create one. Is there a template I can start with or someone I can hire to do this for me?
- Most free webhosts offer templates for people who want to build a website themselves without spending a ton of money. You can do a search in your favorite search engine for "Free Webhosts" or "Website Templates".
To hire a designer to build a site for you, check these resources:
- Your local yellow pages for web designers in your area
- Do a search for a freelance web designer
back to top
- How do I place a banner on my webpage?
-
First, gain access to your website. You'll do this either by using a program like WSFTP to log in to your site or by using a web-based program that allows you to access and make changes to your pages. If you're using a program like WSFTP to download your pages onto your hard drive, you can open them in Notepad or use a web-editor like Dreamweaver, Homesite or FrontPage.
All of these programs will give you two views. One will show you what the page will look like with colors and formatting when you upload it. If you've heard of the term WYSIWYG (wiss-ee-wig), it comes from this view. This is an acronym that stands for What You See Is What You Get. The other view will show you the HTML coding.
Using the WYSIWYG view, find the area where you'd like to add your banner. With most programs, you can paste the code in there. A little grey box will appear denoting the image. The banner won't show until you view it online.
If your program doesn't allow you to paste the code in the WYSIWYG area, you can try "marking" the spot with something like "zzz". Then go to the HTML view. Perform a search or use the find command on the new window to find the "zzz" you inserted. Paste your banner code over the "zzz" and go back to the WYSIWYG area.
When you’re finished, upload the updated page to your site. Test it to be sure the banner shows and the link to the PayDayMax site works.

- I don't want to use banners. How do I setup a text link?
- You can find text links in the PayDayMax Creative section. Copy the links provided and then place them in the desired locations within your website or online posting. back to top
- I've heard about Pop-up and Pop-under (behind) pages. What are they? Do they work?
- Pop-up ads are ads that pop-up in front of the webpage being viewed. Pop-under (or behind) ads are ads that appear under the page being viewed. Both of these are very effective if you do them correctly. Both tend to take a shotgun approach with 100,000 ads or more sent out at once to get results. back to top
- I’m using FrontPage to edit my website. When I add the banner code, all I see is the code. How do I get the banner to show and the link to work?
- An error may have occurred during the editing process. Follow the steps below and your banner will display and link to the PayDayMax page.
- Copy the code to clipboard (CTRL+C).
- Open page in Normal view, place your cursor where you would like the code inserted or the link to be displayed.
- From the menu bar, choose Insert/Advanced/HTML which will open a new window called HTML Markup.
- Paste the code (CTRL+V) into this window.
- Click OK.

- What are click-throughs?
- A click-through is an action that happens when a prospect clicks on a banner or text link that leads them to PayDayMax. Your click–throughs are an important stat to know because they tell you the number of times that visitors clicked on your link to go to the PayDayMax site. back to top
- What are impressions?
- An impression occurs when a page containing your affiliate code is viewed on your site or in your HTML email messages. Impressions are important because they tell you how many "chances" you had to create a banner click-through. back to top
- My stats say I have multiple banner click-throughs and no text click-throughs. I only use text links so what does this mean?
- When you signed up, you were given two codes: A banner code and a text link code. The major difference between the two is in one simple letter.
- Banner codes point to – b.asp. This tells the tracking system a banner was clicked on.
- Text codes point to – t.asp. This tells the tracking system a text link was clicked on.
